RESIDENTIAL / NSW + VICTORIA

Residential building approvals.
For the place you call home.

Building surveying and certification for new homes, extensions and renovations. Practical guidance for homeowners, owner-builders, custom home builders and residential building teams.

01

From an individual home to an established building business.

Whether you are building your first home, extending an existing dwelling or delivering a series of homes, iPermit helps you understand the certification process and organise the information needed for assessment.

Tell us what you are proposing, where the property is and how far the design has progressed. We confirm the service scope, documentation and inspection arrangements for your project.

VICTORIAN RESIDENTIAL PROJECTS

Building permits for homes and renovations.

We assist with Victorian building permit assessment, mandatory inspections and the applicable Occupancy Permit or Certificate of Final Inspection. The owner appoints the building surveyor, and any required planning permission is a separate step.

Our service areas include Wodonga, Wangaratta, North East Victoria, the Alpine region and Greater Geelong, with inspection arrangements confirmed for the project.

NSW RESIDENTIAL PROJECTS

CC and CDC certification.

A Construction Certificate follows development consent. A Complying Development Certificate combines planning and building approval for eligible proposals. We can discuss the relevant pathway once the land and proposed work are understood.

We work across regional NSW, including Albury, the Riverina, Greater Hume and Snowy Valleys. Remember the separate principal certifier appointment before commencing work.

What should you send us?

  1. Your project brief

Your contact details, property address, proposed work, estimated cost of works and intended timing. Let us know whether you are using a builder or considering an owner-builder arrangement.

  2. Plans and existing approvals

Available site and architectural plans, development consent or planning permit, conditions and any relevant information about the existing home.

  3. Supporting design information

Engineering, soil information, energy or sustainability reports and other material already prepared. We confirm which supporting documents are needed for your proposal.

You can request a quote before the complete application pack is ready. Identify which plans are preliminary and which information is still being prepared.

03

Keep the next stage clear.

We communicate assessment requirements and relevant inspection stages through the project. Share proposed design changes before carrying them out, and confirm the required approval, notices and inspection arrangements before work begins.

For an existing permit, an amendment or a project with a surveyor or certifier already appointed, contact us before submitting a new application.

Ask our team a question

BEFORE YOU APPLY

A few useful answers.

Do you work with owner-builders?

Yes. Tell us how the work will be managed so we can discuss the correct appointment and application paperwork. Being the property owner does not automatically mean you are applying as an owner-builder.

Can you assist with apartments or other residential building classes?

Our team works across all building classes. Multi-residential proposals can need different supporting documentation from a single home; describe the building use and scope so we can confirm the service.

What about a pool, shed or garage?

These can form part of a broader residential project or a separate application. See our pool permit guide or shed, garage and carport guide for more specific preparation information.
