01

Could complying development simplify your approval?

For eligible NSW projects, a Complying Development Certificate (CDC) combines planning and construction approval. This can offer a faster, more direct pathway than separate DA and Construction Certificate stages, with potential savings in time and approval-related costs.

iPermit is well versed in carrying out complying development assessments. We review the site, proposed work and supporting documents, and explain the requirements clearly. Whether you are planning a home, an addition or another eligible project, it is worth discussing the pathway early.

The land and proposal must meet the applicable requirements. The benefit and timing depend on your project and documentation.

02

Construction Certificates.

A Construction Certificate generally follows development consent and addresses the detailed building plans and specifications before relevant building work begins. Our assessment considers the applicable requirements and the relationship between the proposed construction and the development consent.

Send us your consent, approved plans and available construction documentation. We will discuss the scope, identify the information needed and provide a quote.

  • New buildings, additions and alterations
  • Construction plans and supporting documentation
  • Coordination with your designer and consultants

03

Inspections and Occupation Certificates.

During construction, required inspections form part of the certification process. The principal certifier has a distinct role that requires a formal appointment. We explain the services included in our engagement and how to arrange inspections.

An Occupation Certificate relates to the occupation or use of a building. The required inspections and completion documentation need to be addressed as part of that assessment. Early coordination helps your project team understand what will be needed at completion.

04

Start with your project details.

We work with clients in Albury, the Riverina, Wagga Wagga, Griffith, Leeton, the Snowy Valleys and Greater Hume. Whether you have a consent in hand or are still developing the proposal, tell us the address, proposed work and current stage. We will outline the next step.

Your questions, answered.

Do I need a Construction Certificate or a CDC?

The pathway depends on the proposal, site and planning requirements. A Construction Certificate generally follows development consent. A CDC is a combined planning and building approval available only where the relevant requirements are met. Send us your project details to discuss the assessment needed.

Does an enquiry appoint iPermit as my certifier?

No. An enquiry starts the discussion. The required engagement and appointment arrangements are separate and must be completed before we act in the relevant role.
